New Orleans woman robbed at gunpoint after exiting bus, and other ...

A woman was robbed at gunpoint near a bus stop in eastern New Orleans Monday evening, police said. The 41-year-old woman was getting off of a bus near the 13900 block of Hayne Boulevard around 5:30 p.m. when she was approached by an unknown man wielding a gun.

The alleged thief then pressed his gun up against the woman while he emptied her pockets of all of the cash she had before shoving her into the woods and fleeing the scene police said.

14-year-old raped: A 14-year-old boy told police he was raped Monday afternoon in Central City, police said. The boy told officers he was raped by a family member around 4:52 p.m. in the 2200 block of Washington Avenue. Police said no arrests have been made.

Car on Frenchmen Street vandalized, laptop stolen: Police said a car parked near the corner of Frenchmen and Milton streets was broken into and vandalized early Monday morning. Around 1 a.m. police officers were notified that the rear driver side window of the car had been smashed in and that a laptop stolen from inside, police said.

Home burglarized in St. Roch: A television and laptop were stolen from inside of a St. Roch residence Monday afternoon, police said. According to reports the front door a home in the 3400 block of Elysian Fields was forced open around 12:45 pm. The home's residents told police that a television and laptop were taken during the break-in and police no arrests have been made.
