Ted Kennedy Slams Robert Bork In 1987 Senate Speech (VIDEO)

It was a classic moment in U.S. Senate history. The late Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) took to the floor on June 23, 1987 to oppose the nomination of Robert Bork, President Ronald Reagan's Supreme Court pick. Bork died Wednesday at the age of 85.

"Robert Bork's America is a land in which women would be forced into back-alley abortions, blacks would sit at segregated lunch counters, rogue police could break down citizens' doors in midnight raids..." Kennedy said.

Months after this speech, the Senate rejected the Bork nomination, 42-58.
